IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Due to concerns of the weather and environmental conditions, we made the difficult decision to move Abigail Reynolds’ Core: Art Rave event from its original location.

We are very pleased to say that the event will now be hosted by the St Andrews Church (Clinton Road), a majestic building that plays an important part in Redruth’s community life both as a place of worship and ritual, and a well-used event space.

Core: Art Rave will take place according to its original schedule between 6pm to 10pm on the Saturday, featuring the newly created dance music mixed from quarry recordings playing  with added elements of projection – the first opportunity to see 16mm film footage Abigail has taken at the quarry. Live DJ’d performances are scheduled at 6.30pm and 8.30pm – and should last for approx. 75minutes.

As an added benefit of our new venue, audience members can now come and go throughout the duration of the event, however, if the venue is at capacity, you may need to wait for others to leave before being admitted.

Ticket holders of the original 5.15pm and 6pm buses will be given guaranteed places to attend the first performance. To take advantage of this, please arrive at St Andrews Church before 6.15pm so we can check you in before other audience members.

We look forward to seeing you there!

As Part of Commissioned Projects: Core – Abigail Reynolds

Our relationship with the Earth is changing. How can we attune ourselves to the Earth and to each other? Core animates these questions in a quarry, a scar of past extraction. This secret location was once a test site for percussive mining drills, but has been silent for decades. Core invites us to move to new rhythms and sounds in this granite landscape, connecting us to deep time. The lost rhythms of percussive drills are replaced by electronic beats made entirely from quarry recordings. Mixed by an impressive array of music producers, these unique sounds let us reconnect to the rhythms of the Earth.

Practicalities: See change notice above The first performance starts at 6.30pm and for this you need to book a bus from central Redruth – either The Ladder and The Elms.

The second performance starts at 8.30pm, and the buses will start shuttling from 6.30pm from both pick-up points, approximately every half an hour with the last departing bus at around 9.30pm. So you can join us whenever you like – there will be plenty to experience! The last returning bus is at 10.15pm.

We will go ahead unless we experience extreme weather. Come prepared for wet uneven ground, and accessibility is limited. Get in touch with us if you need more information about accessibility.
