Walking and Thinking, Thinking and Walking – Carys Wilson

An exhibition of paintings initiated by two years of daily walks and runs through Cornish and Welsh landscapes. Carys seeks to describe an embodiment of the landscape she is in, rather than looking at. Internal physical and emotional experiences direct the visual elements within the paintings.
Walk with Carys as she undertakes an indoor walk: a ten hour meditative experiment resulting in an indexical drawing of the performance.
About the Artist
Carys Wilson is a draughtswoman and painter based in West Cornwall. A runner and walker, these two daily rituals influence everything she does within the studio, from the images she makes, how long she can focus for, and how she reflects upon her practice as a whole and during specific paintings. She recently completed an MA Fine Art at Aberystwyth University and she is based at Krowji.
