Carys Wilson is a draughtswoman and painter based in West Cornwall. Walking and Thinking, Thinking and Walking is a body of egg tempera paintings initiated by daily constitutional walks and longer walks through the Cornish landscape both inland and coastal. Her daily walking practice influences how she draws, what she draws, the marks she makes, the colour palette and how she feels when developing initial drawings into paintings. By Carys observing her world whilst walking, she draws from what she sees, smells, and can hear, and how this all informs her physically and emotionally. Wilson embraces the connection she has with the work and the landscape, through hand making paints and gesso surfaces.
